Porsche never rests on its laurels, whether on the road or the race track, and 2009 was once again a year of constant activity with the launch of a number of new models and new facilities both in the UK and Germany. The good news is that 2010 is set to be another exciting year for the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer, with further announcements and new model introductions planned.

2009 marked the introduction of the new generation Boxster and Cayman, plus the Cayenne Diesel, and the motor sport-inspired 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS. Furthermore, the 911 Turbo marked its 35th anniversary with a new 500bhp engine that underlined its reputation as the definitive high performance sports coupe. These were joined at the end of the year by the lightweight Boxster Spyder and the limited edition 911 Sport Classic. Unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show 2009, the new 2010 XF Jaguar has set out to design, develop and build the definitive Jaguar sports saloon. Now with magnificent new petrol and diesel engines, representing the very latest in advanced power and technology, the 2010 Model Year XF is even more thrilling to drive.

All-new AJ-V8 Gen III petrol engines and new AJ-V6D Gen III diesel engines – all delivering more power and more performance with comparable or better fuel economy and emissions than the engines they supersede. The new 3.0-litre AJ-V6D Gen III engine makes its debut in the 2010 Model Year XF. The twin sequential turbocharged engine is available as the 275PS/600Nm S or a 240PS/500Nm version. Both offer exceptional efficiency and refinement and in the case of the Diesel S accelerate from 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds.

New Automobile

2008 Scion XBI am proud to announce that my past grieving over the loss of my faithful 4Runner has come to an end (but I will never forget you, dear one!) A month ago, we purchased a new Scion XB. My wife fell in love with it right away, but I was reluctant to show any excitement initially. I knew it was a great car SUV wagon box ride, but I wasn’t ready to be emotionally attached to another inanimate object quite yet.

I was impressed by the large list of standard options, the coolest being the iPod attachment which allows the stereo (and steering wheel) controls access to the playlists, etc. (As of yet, the iPhone is not supported). Also stock are 4-wheel disc brakes, a Camry engine, a buttload of airbags, and a surprising amount of interior space.
